After spending an “extended stay” in Woodstock, Georgia preparing for our trip and taking full advantage of our complimentary Gold’s Gym guest pass through our hotel, we took off and headed for the famed moto-campground in Suches, Georgia; Two Wheels Only. After swirling through the red, orange and yellow leaves of autumn on the back roads of north Georgia, we arrived later than planned and decided that our late lunch there would be an early dinner and we’d stay.

The next day on our way toward Crawford Campground, northwest of Murphy, North Carolina, we toured through some scenic towns advertising free-fudge samples; not a hard sell for us and did a bit of dirt mashing on forest roads and the Old TN-68 just north of Hiwassee Lake.

By the time we popped onto the new (paved) 68, the sun was low so we headed up to crash at the super clean Hunt’s Lodge Motorcycle Campground in Tellico Plains. I’m surprised how many “biker” specific campgrounds I’m noticing and how they seem to be spawning moto-meet-ups and weekend adventures for the two-wheel enthusiasts; beautiful thing.

We’re off to dual along side the Cherohala Skyway today and hopefully make it up to Towsend to hear some Wood-N-String bluegrass.
